Digital Mode PSK31

This is a "work in progress". Following the success of K8DMR's GRARA pages on amateur television (ATV), I hope to show you a little about my favorite ham radio mode in this corner, PSK31.  I will also give you links to web sites that I have found to be quite helpful in getting started.  Although I don't consider myself an expert, I am enjoying PSK31 and other digital modes more each day.  PSK31 has the power to punch through when voice modes cannot. It's a perfect mode for a computer nerd like me, although 'nerd' status is not required.

PSK31 Example Screen

This is why I like PSK31 -- in a single picture.

The above partial screen shot is from my psk31 computer screen. The top part of the screen shows the text that the station is sending. The bottom shows the station's signal in a waterfall format. It shows W5VGR/5 in Houston talking to OZ2BBH in Denmark. Note, in the yellow text area, the transmitting station describes the free software he is using, his relatively simple antenna and his 35 watts of power. This is common for PSK31. It appears that W5VGR is slightly keyboard challenged, and he still makes it work with pre-loaded macros. (Just like me.) Let me tell you about PSK31...
